A few words about

What We Do

Our projects

We foster meaningful connections among individuals who feel isolated by their experiences.

It began with Elsie Ramsey sharing her powerful story of overcoming depression with a professional association of young social purpose leaders. Inspired by this experience, we founded Bigger Than Depression to promote digital narrative therapy for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. This therapeutic approach has been proven to enhance confidence, foster empathy, and increase knowledge, empowering people to navigate their mental health journeys with greater resilience and understanding.

We carefully curate mental health resources, including educational materials, coping strategies, and tools for managing mental health.

We are committed to empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate their mental health journeys effectively.

advocacy & community
We attack isolation with stories that speak to real experience, leveraging narrative to raise awareness about mood disorders

We strive to inform the public and policymakers about the complexities of mental health and the importance of compassionate support systems.

“For me becoming a leader has been about shedding those conventional ideas of success. It’s been about me saying, ‘I’ve struggled with depression my whole life. And I get up and I live and I fight through it.’ And there’s tremendous power in being able to say that because it allows other people to say it too.” Elsie Ramsey, Founder of Bigger Than Depression, talks about how she’s developed into a leader and the most empowering part of her work.
