who we are

Our Mission

At Bigger Than Depression, our mission is to transform the narrative around mood disorders and mental health. We believe that every story matters and that by sharing our journeys, we can cultivate a supportive community where everyone can find hope, understanding, and empowerment. Our commitment is to provide resources, support, and a platform for voices that deserve to be heard, helping each person recognize that they are, indeed, bigger than depression.

Our Team

Our small team is composed of individuals with lived mental health experiences and innovators in the digital health space. We are united by our passion for destigmatizing mental illness and creating better systems for people who are struggling with mood disorders. Together, we bring a unique blend of personal insight and professional expertise to our mission, striving to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by mental health challenges.

Resources Chosen With Discernment

At Bigger Than Depression, we meticulously curate mental health resources, drawing from our intimate knowledge of the mental health landscape. Our dedicated team ensures that every resource is selected with care and expertise, providing valuable and relevant support to our community.

Transparency in Action

It all began with Elsie Ramsey sharing her story of overcoming depression with a professional association of young social purpose leaders. Inspired by the experience, she founded Bigger Than Depression to promote digital narrative therapy for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. This therapeutic approach has been proven to enhance confidence, foster empathy, and increase knowledge.
