About Me

About Me

I work to normalize conversations about mental health through my advocacy, contributions to psychology outlets, consulting and management of this website. I was born in California and moved all around the country growing up, including Palo Alto, Boston, San Diego, and Houston. I left high school in my junior year to pursue a modeling career that took me all over the world. Finally I landed In New York City, where I earned my BA in Political Science from Hunter College.

Before I began my work on depression, my career included stints in politics, non-profit management and behavioral health care technology. Throughout all life’s phases, I battled my depression. I pushed it down and powered through, while feeling tremendously disempowered and ashamed. Everything changed when I started sharing my private pain on this site and made a public declaration of my depression with the help of American Express Leader Stories.

I want others to experience the peace and equanimity I’ve found. Submit a story or reach out–I would love to connect with you!
